Soccer Championships

Jef coached Ben's team this year, and they were amazing. Jef is an awesome coach, and they were undefeated all season.

Then came playoffs, and we were kicking everyone's trash. It was awesome.

Everyone showed up to the championship game pretty sure that we had this one in the bag. We stayed ahead of them the whole game, but in the last couple minutes they scored a couple goals and tied with us.

So we had to go into sudden death overtime - whoever scores first wins.

And the other team scored first.

But no one moved. Even the other team. We all stood there in shock. Finally someone asked the ref if the game was over. None of us were quite sure. But it really was over, and the other team had won.

It was SO sad. Really. I don't think Jef is quite over it yet, and that was two weeks ago. Ben was doing alright, though. I think it was a lot harder on the coach than the players. They all got second place trophies - plus a treat - so that was good enough for Ben.

Poor Jef.
