Democracy in Action

On Saturday we purchased a new vehicle.  It is a 12 passenger CNG van.  It's true that we already had a large family vehicle, but our Suburban is quite a gas hog.  For example, on Saturday we went north, and before leaving town we filled up the Suburban with $90 of gas.  Before we came home, we had to fill up the new van with CNG.  It cost $9.20.

But, as all of you know, the first thing you have to do when you acquire a new vehicle is to name it.
So the Family Business part of Family Home Evening included choosing a name for the new van.

It was quite the process.
We all said what names we liked, then voted.  Erased all the ones that didn't get voted for, and voted again.  And again.  And again.  Finally it was down to two names:  Kronk and Jinx.   What kind of choices are those?  "Big and Dumb" or "Bad Luck?"
I voted for Jinx, but Kronk won.  I still wasn't happy with either choice, though, and so discussion continued.  The theory was that Kronk worked well since Kronk rhymes with Honk.  But this van doesn't really honk.  It beeps.  It looks big, but it's horn is little.  So then the name got changed to Beep, and that was the final decision.
So much for democracy.
Welcome to the family, Beep.
