Party Party Party!

Saturday was a day for parties.  We started out with the Summer Reading Program Pool Party for all the kids who finished the game.  They each had to read at least 800 minutes or pages to come to the party, and I'm happy to say that over 60 kids came!  It was lots of fun, but extremely exhausting.  The pool let us use their water guns, so it was basically a water fight that lasted 1.5 hours.  And let me tell you:  the kids who are the shyest and cutest are the most relentless when handed a water gun.

The second party was a birthday party for the boy around the corner.  Annie was invited (her first birthday party!), but Jennie tagged along because the she's friends with the boy's older sister.

They had (another) water fight and got their faces painted!

Overall, Annie seemed very happy with her first birthday party experience.

I went over to the library to do the end-of-summer drawing between parties, and while I was there it started raining.  And raining.  And raining.  It kept raining all day, and we ended up with a whole lot of water.
The kids thought it was great, and went right out to play.

Ben was helping Jaden pull weeds when it started to rain, and they kept pulling until they were done.

Which means that they were all soaking wet when it was time to go to the Library Staff Pizza Party.

Everyone got lots of pizza to eat, all the staff got to meet each other's families, and Robyn got to play with a baby!  This is Amber's baby (and Eva's grandbaby) and she is the smiliest baby I've ever seen.  That, and she never holds still.  So all her pictures are smiley, but they're also blurry.

To say I was exhausted at the end of the day would be a huge understatement.  In fact, I woke up the next day feeling sick and stayed that way for a couple of days.  I guess all that partying had a price.  But it was sure fun!
